When I discovered massage I had no idea that such an exciting new chapter had begun in life. The 'human being' (and being human) is such a huge, unique and fascinating subject, it feels like an epic journey of discovery that never ends.
Training in one skill has led to developing another, qualifying in Swedish Massage, Bodywork, Sports Massage Therapy, Holistic Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reflexology. With continued exploration as a therapist, personal skills have been developed with a Btec Level 5 in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage with the Insitute of Sports and Remedial Massage, in addition to exploring techniques in myofascial release.
In addition to private client and clinic treatment sessions, 3 years of training saw me qualify as a Massage Training Institute tutor in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology and Practical tutor for the one year Diploma in Holisitc Massage and become Co Director of the Meridian School of Massage. It is an amazing to be a part of training individuals and watching them grow into Professional Massage Therapy Practitioners. Working with Lorraine at Meridian, has given me the opportunity to continue to develop as a therapist, tutor and more recently a theory and practical exam assessor for MTI. We have also developed a new course for Indian Head Massage, and in 2011 created and launched a Holistic and Therapeutic Sports and Remedial Massage Diploma. By learners accounts both have been a great success.
Working to a Code of Ethics (see M.T.I. web site). Member of the Massage Training Institute, Federation of Holistic Therapists (MFHT, MICHT), Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage and registered with the Complementary and Natural Health Council.(Reg. 000096-C09)
